In July 2002, Anderson Township prepared a proposed land use plan for the Ohio Riverfront Area. This plan contained a land use plan that balances the scenic and environmentally sensitive areas with potential economic development opportunities along the river. As part of the township’s 2011 Comprehensive Plan the land use plan for this area was updated. In December 2011 the township began an update process of the Ohio Riverfront Area Plan. The update process is focusing on an understanding of how economic market forces will impact the area and developing a strong implementation strategy.
